What we are NOT

We are not current affairs. We do not pretend to follow the news in real time, we do not believe that our value is in the last minute. That is something that is already sufficiently covered by the conventional media. Our purpose is to flee from information noise and, to a great extent, from information short-termism.

We are not news. Journalism classes always teach that the news is not that a dog bites a man, but that a man bites a dog. And it can make sense in terms of clicks. The problem is that it can make us lose our understanding of the world around us. When was the last time you saw an oil tanker in a newspaper or on the news? Perhaps an unfortunate catastrophe? The blockage of a famous canal? Every day more than 2,000 tankers move around the world transporting oil without making the news when really these are the ships that affect our lives and make everything work. We want to tell you more about these things...

We are not only present. Sometimes we will also talk about things that have already happened and you will say: "hey, this is already known, it's not news". We believe that it is good to remember facts and situations that may seem too recent and well known, but that nevertheless due to the information noise end up being forgotten or rewritten.

NotNews

News stories are breaking every minute. The media can't keep up. Every few seconds a new piece of news emerges in some corner of the world. Of course, our lives, the economy, politics and ultimately our world doesn't change that fast. That's why we created NotNews.

NotNews is a new kind of media where we will try to explain the reality behind the most important news. The events and facts that really have the potential to influence our lives, our savings or our way of thinking. In the best VisualPolitik style.

We want to focus on what's relevant. On the more pragmatic side.

NotNews is born as a newsletter in Spanish and also as a website. And soon we will also be expanding to new languages and creating shorts for YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok (if not banned). All 100% free of charge.
